Christmas Gift Guide 2020
Holiday Gift Guide 2020

The Maverick Observer Holiday Gift Guide is here with unique ideas for everyone in your life.

I collaborated with the MO Team, friends, and family to come up with the ultimate gift guide for the holiday season. We only wanted items that are tried and true from our personal experiences. Coming up with the perfect gift is tough, so we hope this helps!

For the Young and Young at Heart

For the youngsters out there, we are always in search of gifts that encourage learning, imagination, and interaction. Raddish – Cooking Club For Kids was an easy choice for our Gift Guide. With each kit delivered to your door, kids learn culinary skills, create new recipes, collect an apron patch and kitchen tool, and more. The founders believe kids who cook, eat have a better imagination and we couldn’t agree more.

All kids love to build forts so this Kids Fort Building Kit is amazing. It encourages their creativity as they build different designs.

We are always looking for fun board games and Ticket to Ride combines strategy and decision-making as players run trains and decide routes to collect maximum points to win.

Whether you’re young or young at heart, you’re never too old for the Razor A5 DLX Scooter. Not only is it so much fun, but it’s great exercise as well. A win, win.

Our last recommendation in this category is the Craggy Games Hooks! Ring Toss and Shot Ladder Bundle. It takes the classic Hooks game to a whole new level. Players race each other as the shot glass gets moved towards your opponent every time you hook your ring.

For the Ladies In Your Life

It seems like jewelry is always a common gift around the holidays. We have two affordable options that are sure to please. These are perfect as a gift for a significant other, friend, family member, teacher, or anyone deserving!

MantraBand® Motivational Message Bracelets are beautiful. I gifted one to a friend years ago and she wears it all the time. Every time I see it, I’m always shocked that it still looks good as new. The inspirational messages are a reminder that we all need sometimes.

Morse & Mantra is local to Colorado Springs and every Morse code bracelet is handmade. Victoria was inspired by her husband’s career in the Air Force and the joy she gets from creating meaningful pieces of jewelry that represent something special.

Backpack coolers are trending everywhere but this Igloo Luxe Mini Convertible Backpack takes the cake. Excellent quality and a chic design make this an easy choice. Anybody would be elated to see this under the tree.

For the Men in Your Life

Let’s face it, Yeti seems to be on everyone’s holiday wish list. Their impeccable quality make it a hard gift to ignore. By this time, most of us have drinkware of some sort from this Texas based company, but one of our favorite products from them is the Lowlands Blanket. The bottom, waterproof layer is immune to wet ground of any kind. It’s perfect for camping, concerts, and picnics. And the best part is that it’s machine washable.

I purchased the 5.11 Tactical Lester Long Sleeve Shirt for my husband and I’m not sure who loved it more. Not only does it look structured and polished, it’s soft and comfortable. My husband’s favorite part is that it has snaps vs. buttons. It’s easy to put on or take off if you get too warm.

Anybody who spends any time outside in the cold needs the OCOOPA Electric Hand Warmer. With 3 different heat settings and a battery life of 15 hours, your hands will be happy.

For the Chef in the Family

Food is the way to our hearts at The Maverick Observer so we had to feature gifts for the chef in our lives.

This list wouldn’t be complete without the Blackstone Griddle Cooking Station. We make majority of our meals on this bad boy and it was absolutely worth the price. If you’re looking to splurge and spoil someone this year, this gift is it.

Everyone who spends time in the kitchen deserves a quality cutting board. One of our staffers recently purchased a beautiful board from Paris Wood Design, a local Colorado Springs company.

For the baker in your group, this Nordic Ware Pine Forest Bundt Pan is stunning. It will make the most festive Bundt cakes and they’ll think of you every time you they use it.

Our final recommendation is the Lars Leber 2022 Colorado Calendar. We featured this local photographer earlier this month because we are huge fans of his work. Who wouldn’t love staring at his iconic shots each month?

Quality time with friends and family is the ultimate gift. We hope you all have a blessed holiday season.

The Maverick Observer is an online free-thinking publication interested in the happenings in our region. We launched in February 2020 to hold our politicians and businesses accountable. We hope to educate, inform, entertain, and infuse you with a sense of community.
