COVID-19 and Facts Truth Matters

Vast Spectrum of Views

The truth matters, but does anybody know the truth? While perusing the Internet and the local paper in early May I have a mighty hard time thinking anyone does. It stands to reason that someone should, but the vast spectrum of views on the COVID-19 “facts” makes me believe no one does.

The headline on the front page of the Gazette, May 3, 2020 was “Colorado dodged catastrophe” with “medical experts and business leaders agreeing.” Wow! Then just Saturday, May 16, the Gazette reported the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) changed the parameters for how COVID-19 deaths are being accounted for and the death toll decreased from 1105 to 878, equaling 21% reported change. So, what is the proper way to account for a death from the virus?  Changes and disagreements abound!

Dr. Fauci & WHO Changing Positions

Even the grand poohbah employed by the National Institutes of Health, Director Anthony S. Fauci, M.D. has changed his position. The World Health Organization (WHO) also changed its position. Some say the WHO is being controlled by the Communist Party of China (CCP) while others say it is doing a great neutral job.

Why are business leaders agreeing with medical experts? I question the amount of medical knowledge needed by folks in the business world to opine on medical issues. What narrative are business leaders following to determine the health and well being of their businesses?

Colorado has a rather high incident of this virus, but now we know the numbers have been changed down 21%. Why? Does anyone really know? Is this due to science or politics?

Dan Caplis, attorney and radio talk show host has been questioning why our governor/king did not quarantine arriving travelers at DIA for the established 14-day period. This seems to be a reasonable question. Coloradoans had to stay home while a visitor had the run of the state. It might have been important to not give them the run of the state. I wish Polis would have thought of that!

What are the Facts?

The basic question that matters in all of this is … what are the COVID-19 facts?  This is the only question.  The answer to my way of thinking is that facts do not matter to many people. People today have their own agendas and ways of thinking. The digital age has made it too easy to find backup for any belief you have. One’s reality seems factual even if it is not.

News sources are nothing but propaganda yelling at you daily. The “likes” on Facebook have in many instances replaced facts. Wake up and take a closer look at the cesspool! This is a sorry state of news.  The basic tenets of ethical, unbiased reporting have gone out the window. I long for the day when the facts were facts and the truth mattered!
