Tim Hoiles, former owner of The Colorado Springs Gazette, sits down with Jon Caldara to talk about the unique danger that ‘special taxing districts‘ pose to Colorado taxpayers. Also, they talk about the new project that Tim has been working on – The Maverick Observer.

If you are interested in special districts and the burden they place on Colorado taxpayers, check out the series “Special Taxing Districts – The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly – Part 1” and Part 2.

The Maverick Observer, or “The Moe” as we affectionately call it, is an online free-thinking publication interested in the happenings in our town. We launched in February 2020 to hold our politicians and businesses accountable. We hope to educate, inform, entertain, and infuse you with a sense of community.
