Background: My dad, Colonel Harry D. Gilpin made this cranberry relish recipe every Thanksgiving and Christmas. He made a big enough batch to enjoy during dinner and then for turkey sandwiches later. Our family could never agree on their favorite meal or dish with this cranberry relish.
- 1 package cranberries, washed
- 1 large orange, peeled
- 1 large apple
- 1/2 cup pecans
- 1 1/2 cups sugar
- Run top four ingredients through #10 grinder
- Make sure all ingredients are mixed well.
- Add sugar as you mix.
- Chill covered overnight in refrigerator.
- Serve with Thanksgiving or Christmas turkey, ham, etc.
Why wait for Christmas or Thanksgiving? Cranberry Sauce is wonderful with any baked meat like Pork Medallions.

Hi Heidi, Thank you very much for reaching out to Gunner and I. Enjoy the recipe! We make it every Thanksgiving and Christmas and it brings back great memories of Gunner’s dad. Angela Gilpin
