Manhattan

  • 2 ounces rye whiskey
  • 1 ounce sweet vermouth
  • 2-3 dashes bitters, preferably Angostura
  • Maraschino cherry for garnish

Stir rye, sweet vermouth, and bitters with ice until chilled.  Strain into a coupe.  Garnish with maraschino cherry.

Background: Featured in the Whisky Advocate, dated spring of 2019.  I love a good Manhattan after a long day at work. It reminds me of the drinks I shared with my father at every holiday party.
