Navy Strength Gin Red Flag Fleet Cocktail

Background: The Red Flag Fleet Cocktail sounds super labor-intensive and to some degree it is…but so well worth all your time and efforts.

  • 1 ounce oolong tea-infused Navy Strength Gin
  • 3/4 ounce fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 ounce allspice liqueur
  • 1/2 ounce Curacao
  • 1/4 ounce honey syrup
  • 1/2 ounce egg white

Infused Gin Instructions

  1. Purchase a bottle of Navy strength gin (I bought a small one to start but we like this cocktail so much I’m sorry I didn’t buy a larger one)
  2. 3 – 6 Oolong tea bags (Depending on the size of your gin bottle)
  3. Soak the tea bags in the gin until it’s flavored, about 30 minutes.

Honey Syrup

  • 1 1/2 cups honey
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated lemon zest

Honey Syrup Instructions

  1. Combined all ingredients in a small saucepan.
  2. Cook over medium heat stirring occasionally until boiling.
  3. Continue to boil until the mixture is reduced by 1/3.
  4. Store in a glass jar, in the fridge.

Assembling the Cocktail

  1. Whisk 1/2 ounce egg white until frothy and slightly stiff (I found 1 egg is the perfect size of 1/2 ounce).
  2. Fill a shaker a third full of ice, pour in the infused gin, lemon juice, allspice liqueur, Curacao, and honey syrup.  Shake until mixed and chilled.  Strain into a 4 ounce cocktail glass.
  3. Top with whipped egg white.

  1. […] Background: This Black Garlic Pasta all started when my husband Tim read a newspaper article about black garlic, how it was made and what it was good for. And in his usual way, challenged me to try it.  At that moment, truth be told I was not at all keen!  But I can’t resist a challenge from him, so I bit. The black garlic was delightfully mild in its garlic flavor, sweet and chewy with a hint of very good balsamic. I encourage you to venture out and give it a try. Use the leftover egg white for the Red Flag Fleet cocktail. […]
