This Zesty Tzatziki Sauce has the perfect amount of flavor and freshness!
Background: Our family loves Greek food so having this Zesty Tzatziki Sauce recipe is key to creating balanced, authentic dishes. We love a good tzatziki sauce so much that it makes our decision when deciding between our two favorite Greek restaurants. This sauce balances the freshness of the cucumber with the zest of the fresh garlic. We always make it to go along with our Greek Chicken Pitas recipe.
- 1 medium cucumber, diced
- 1 cup Greek yogurt
- 2-3 cloves garlic, grated or minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh squeezed lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- kosher salt
- 1/4 cup fresh dill, chopped
- 2 tablespoons fresh mint, finely chopped
- Dice cucumber and set on a paper towel lined plate to absorb some of the moisture. Set aside for five minutes.
- Stir the cucumber, yogurt, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil and salt together in a medium bowl until well combined. Fold in the fresh dill and mint.
- Refrigerate for a few hours to let the flavors come together and serve cold with a fresh drizzle of olive oil.
We like to top our Greek Chicken Kabobs with this delicious tzatziki sauce!
