These Smoked Pig Shots are the perfect appetizer for your next BBQ!

Background: Smoked Pig Shots are all the best things in one appetizer: bacon-wrapped sausage stuffed with garlic, smoked cream cheese and topped with BBQ sauce! Every time we make these for a BBQ or get-together, they disappear so fast! Using a good quality, thick-cut bacon is the key to having a pig shot that will support the cheese filling. Make these Smoked Pig Shots for your next party and you will be everyone’s favorite!

  • 1 pound thick-cut bacon
  • 1 kielbasa sausage
  • 3 tablespoons of your favorite pork rub, divided
  • 8 ounce package cream cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2-3 garlic cloves, minced or grated
  • 1-2 jalapeno poppers, seeded and diced
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • BBQ sauce
  1. Score the block of cream cheese and brush with olive oil. Top with garlic and 1 tablespoon of pork rub. Smoke for 2 hours at 180 degrees.
  2. Slice your kielbasa sausage into 1/2”-3/4” rounds. Cut the bacon slices in half, sprinkle with rub, wrap around the sausage, and secure with a toothpick.
  3. Combine the smoked cream cheese, cheddar cheese, and jalapenos in a medium bowl. Spoon mixture into a large Ziploc bag and cut the tip off so you can pipe your mixture into each pig shot.
  4. Smoke for about an hour at 275 degrees, or until the bacon is as crispy as you like it. Top the pig shots with BBQ sauce for the last 30 minutes of cook time.
