On April 9th, my wife Lorie, and I scheduled an appointment at the Costco hearing aid department. I was trying to see if I might be able to find some less expensive ones to replace my Oticon hearing aids which are now three generations behind. I had a 10:00 am appointment with a gentleman named Michael.
He was not only personable but EXTREMELY helpful. I only wish I could buy a hearing aid from him. Knowingly he suggested no.
So, what gives? I have a nutty hi-fi passion. My wife calls it an obsession. The Oticons I have need adjustments after I listened to some music on my home system. The issue was a concert grand piano sounded like an out-of-tune honky-tonk one. I was mortified.
Thankfully, Dr. Bill, my audiologist was able to program them with a second setting that I just push a button, and shazam the concert grand sounds like it should.
I cannot give enough kudos to Michael as he spent a great deal of time answering all my questions, even the silly ones. A true pro who I can respect and appreciate.
Unfortunately, I must look at Oticon hearing aids again for the new upgrades, but I am relieved to have gotten a meaningful second opinion. Thank you, Michael.
