These Sugar Free Blondie Bars are easy to make and friendly to those with dietary restrictions.
Background: I made these Sugar Free Blondie Bars for a friend who was recently diagnosed with diabetes. It’s important to have delicious dessert recipes for our friends and family that need sugar free options. The browned butter adds a rich flavor along with the chocolate chips. These Sugar Free Blondie Bars are soft, chewy, and sure to please!
- 1/2 cup butter
- 2 cups almond flour
- 1/4 cup Swerve granular sugar
- 1/4 cup Swerve brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup sugar free chocolate chips
- Melt butter over medium heat in a small saucepan. Constantly stir the butter while it cooks until it becomes a deep amber color, usually about 4 to 5 minutes. Remove from heat, pour into a small bowl, and let cool.
- Preheat oven to 325 degrees and grease an 8×8 inch pan.
- In a large bowl, whisk together almond flour, sweeteners, baking powder, and salt. Stir in egg, browned butter and vanilla extract until well combined. Stir in the chocolate chips.
- Press dough evenly into prepared pan and bake for 15 to 20 minutes, until just set and golden brown. Let cool and cut into squares.
