Background: These Banana Cream Pie Bars are a fun twist on a classic dessert recipe and require zero baking. Just like Banana Cream Pie, the crust is what can make or break the dish. For these bars, the crust is made from Nabisco vanilla wafers and it is so yummy.
- 1 ½ cups crushed Nabisco vanilla wafers
- 1/4 cup melted butter
- 3 tablespoons Karo corn syrup
- 1 (3.4 ounce) box of instant Banana or Banana Cream pudding
- 1 cup milk
- 2-3 bananas, sliced
- 1 (8 ounce) container whipped topping
- Combine crushed vanilla wafers, butter and corn syrup in a bowl. Mix well then press into bottom of a greased 8×8 square pan. Refrigerate for 10 minutes.
- Whisk instant pudding with milk for 2 minutes and refrigerate for at least 5 minutes, until set.
- Fold 1 cup of the cool whip into the set pudding. Spread the pudding mixture in the pan over the crust.
- Slice bananas and spread a single layer of them over the pudding mixture.
- Top with remaining cool whip completely covering the bananas and pudding.
- Place in the freezer for one hour to set up.
- Cut into 9 equal pieces and serve!
Puppy Chow is another great dessert recipe that doesn’t require any baking!
