Big Mac Casserole is a macro-friendly dish that everyone will love!

Background: This Big Mac Casserole Recipe is everything you love about burgers without all the guilt. It’s delicious, easy to make, and family friendly. The burger sauce brings it all together so we highly suggest you make your own. This is a great dinner option for the busy work week or for BBQs and get-togethers. You can customize it to your liking by choosing your own toppings. Big Mac Casserole also makes for great leftovers which is a bonus.

  • Russet potatoes (2 for a 9×9 dish or 3 for a 9×13 dish)
  • extra lean ground beef (1 pound for a 9×9 dish or 2 pounds for a 9×13 dish)
  • whole white onion, chopped
  • Lawry’s seasoned salt
  • salt & pepper
  • onion powder
  • garlic powder
  • yellow mustard
  • shredded cheddar cheese – we recommend shredding your own cheese
  • Burger Sauce – so easy to make
  • toppings: shredded lettuce, chopped onions & tomatoes, dill pickle chips
  1. Pre heat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Wash and chop your potatoes into small bite-size pieces, leaving the skin on. Try to keep the size of the potatoes small and uniform so they cook consistently.
  3. Heat a pan over medium heat and add the olive oil. Add potatoes to the hot oil and 1/4 cup of water. Season the potatoes generously with seasoned salt, or salt and pepper. Cook potatoes until they begin to soften, stirring often so they do not burn, usually about 7 to 12 minutes depending on the size of your potatoes. Once the potatoes have softened place them in a large bowl and set aside.
  4. In the same pan you cooked the potatoes add the ground beef and half the onions. Cook until the ground beef is mostly cooked through and the onions have softened. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder and mustard. Stir well to ensure everything is combined, then add the mixture to the large bowl of potatoes. Mix well.
  5. Pour the potato and ground beef mixture into baking dish. Top with shredded cheddar cheese and cover with foil. Place in the oven for about 15 minutes or until the cheese has melted.
  6. While the casserole bakes make your Burger Sauce. Place in the fridge until ready to add to your casserole.
  7. When the casserole is done baking, remove from the oven and remove the foil. Top with the burger sauce, shredded lettuce, chopped white onion, chopped tomatoes and full pickle chips. Enjoy!
