I am not represented by the folks who stormed the capitol building on Wednesday, January 6, 2021. I condemn their actions.

I believe in this country and our values. I believe we can get back to a better place, but first we must stop lumping people into buckets. Quit labeling me by my politics or who I voted for. I had personal reasons for not voting for Hilary Clinton in 2016. I am more than my President.

I am a retired Army officer with 22 years of active duty, I swore an oath to “support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same”, and I am a veteran of two conflicts.  I defended this county and fought for your rights and liberties. And would gladly do it again.

I am a knitter, crocheter, quilter, and all-around crafter. I am German, on my mom’s side, and a Michigander on my dad’s side, but above all I am a Patriot.

So, the next time you watch the news, please remember the rioters do not represent me.
