Colorado Governor Jared Polis has a fondness for saying, “We’re all in this together” during press conferences addressing the coronavirus pandemic. He is also fond of the words, “bold,” and “flatten the curve.” During an April 26 press conference, he declared the curve had been flattened but then added that folks in Colorado would continue living in a “much more dangerous” world, and that folks should wear masks while in public.

The truth matters, but does anybody know the truth? While perusing the Internet and the local paper in early May I have a mighty hard time thinking anyone does. It stands to reason that someone should, but the vast spectrum of views on this virus makes me believe no one does.

Shutdowns have given businesses and individuals a chance to make lasting change.

The key to success in a coronavirus world? Flexibility.

There is a relatively simple way to stop the coronavirus dead in its tracks. It might sound impossible at first, but it’s well within our capabilities, and it’s far less costly and disruptive than what countries around the world are doing now.

In response to the pandemic that has reached our corner of the world, Pikes Peak Library District (PPLD) has an alternative. While the brick and mortar buildings are inaccessible to the public, they are offering digital access to their online resources, with a temporary library card.
