Background: This Cherry Dump Cake is a family favorite recipe because it is a simple recipe and requires minimal ingredients that most of us have in our pantry. My family always makes them with cherry and pineapple, but you can customize it with any filling you desire. This dump cake recipe is a perfect dessert to let the little kids help with!

  1. Grease a 9×13 dish with butter, making sure to get sides and edges evenly.
  2. Mix cherry filling and crushed pineapple together in a medium bowl. Pour into greased dish.
  3. Sprinkle yellow cake mix all over filling, covering evenly.
  4. Cut butter up on top of the cake mix.
  5. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until golden brown.

Dump cakes are a staple at our BBQs along with our BBQ Chicken Ring and Bacon Jalapeno Deviled Eggs.
