Freedom of Speech

Coming to work this morning I was listening to Glenn Beck. Do me a favor and keep reading. He was talking to Edwin Black who coined the words “digital ghetto.” As Mr. Black was explaining this term and further explaining the fact that in Germany the Jews were put into ghettos with a lot of their rights trampled on, my mind raced to stories I have read in the past.

First, I start with one phrase Glenn used this morning, it was along the lines of “if I can’t speak to a meaningful group of people, I really don’t have free speech!” What a true statement. I can speak to a wall forever but I am not communicating my persona or beliefs to others.

To have a meaningful exchange of DIFFERENT ideas one must interact with another human being in some manner. Big tech has become the sensor in the past several days. Censorship is always the precursor to propaganda. Propaganda limits people’s freedom.

I still live in the USA and have the right to my own opinion. I do not force it on other people, but I do not want to censor them either. They have the right to say anything they want no matter how revolting it is to me period. Big techs censorship is tantamount to totalitarianism.

I thought the United States valued freedom of speech. I am really starting to wonder if we do.
