
Background: We made Joanna Gaines Brownie Pie recipe from the Magnolia Table cookbook and it knocked our socks off! The pie crust balances out the rich and decadent filling, making for a perfect dessert. It left us fighting over the last piece! You’ll want to add this one to your list of yummy recipes to try.
- 8 tablespoons (1 stick) salted butter
- 2 ounces unsweetened chocolate, coarsley chopped
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup coarsely chopped pecans
- 1 9-inch deep-dish pie crust
- powdered sugar, for garnish
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Heat the butter and unsweetened chocolate in small saucepan over low heat, stirring until melted and smooth.
- Remove the pan from heat and whisk in the sugar until smooth. Pour into medium bowl and set aside to cool for 10 minutes.
- Whisk in the eggs one at a time. Whisk in the flour, vanilla and salt.
- Fold in the chocolate chips and pecans. Pour into the pie crust.
- Bake until just set and a crust forms on top, about 1 hour. Cool to room temperature on a wire rack.
- Just before serving, dust with powdered sugar.
- To store, wrap tightly and keep at room temperature for up to 2 days.

I inmissed the first part of Joanna’s show when she made brownie pie, she melted the chocolate, and added to other ingredients, but she either melted the chocolate chips with the other chocolate because I didn’t see her add them later. I don’t wand to mess it up, explain please.
Hi Glenda! You fold in the chocolate chips and pecans as the last step before pouring the mixture into your pie crust. I hope that helps!
