
These Jalapeno Popper Wonton Cups are the perfect game day appetizer.
Background: Jalapeno Popper Wonton Cups are cheesy, spicy and crunchy! They are the perfect appetizer for fall or game day entertaining. You can control the spice level with the jalapenos depending on how many you use or seeds you include. They bake up beautifully in a muffin pan in the oven. They’re everything you love about a bacon wrapped jalapeno popper but in a perfect little wonton cup. These Jalapeno Popper Wonton Cups are easy to make and will wow your guests. You can always have them premade and just pop them in the oven when you’re ready for them.
- 12 wonton wrappers
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 2-3 jalapenos
- 6 slices of cooked bacon, crumbled or chopped
- 1 1/2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, freshly shredded is best, separated
- 1/4 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper
- 3 tablespoons green onions, chopped
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Spray a muffin pan with nonstick cooking spray.
- Place one wonton wrapper in each muffin cup.
- Bake wrappers for about 5 minutes until they start to brown.
- In a medium bowl, combine cream cheese, jalapenos, bacon, one cup shredded cheddar and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Spoon mixture evenly into the wonton cups.
- Top with remaining cheese and bake for 7-9 minutes or until cheese is melted.
- Garnish with green onion and serve immediately.
