Smoked Apple Pie Baked Beans is a must try side dish recipe!

Background: These Smoked Apple Pie Baked Beans are everything you want in a side dish recipe. The sweetness from the apples, savory sausage, and kick from the jalapenos makes for a perfect bite! We always love a good recipe that is simple to make and this is one of them. If you don’t have a smoker, you could always bake them in the oven. Smoked Apple Pie Baked Beans is a fantastic recipe for all year round- summer BBQs, fall get-togethers, and cold winter nights.

  1. Cook bacon and set aside to cool. Chop your bacon once it has cooled enough to handle.
  2. Put your beans in a cast iron dutch oven or aluminum pan.
  3. Use a medium to large skillet to cook pork sausage over medium-high heat along with your bell pepper and onion. Once it is cooked, add all the contents into the beans along with the chopped bacon.
  4. Add the jalapenos, apple fruit filling, BBQ sauce, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir until well combined.
  5. Season with pork rub to your taste, usually a generous sprinkle. Stir until well combined.
  6. Sprinkle brown sugar over the beans gently fold in.
  7. Smoke for 2-3 hours at 250-275 degrees.
