Smoked Apple Pie Baked Beans is a must try side dish recipe!

We always love a good recipe that is simple to make and this is one of them. If you don’t have a smoker, you could always bake them in the oven. Smoked Apple Pie Baked Beans is a fantastic recipe for all year round- summer BBQs, fall get-togethers, and cold winter nights.
- 2 28 ounce cans Bush’s Original Baked Beans
- 1 pound bacon, cooked and chopped
- 1 pound Jimmy Dean All-Natural Regular Pork Sausage
- 1/2 white onion, chopped
- 1 red bell pepper, chopped
- 2 jalapenos, chopped
- 21 ounce can Lucky Leaf Premium Apple Fruit Filling
- 1 cup your favorite BBQ sauce
- 1-2 tablespoons yellow mustard
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- your favorite pork rub
- 1 cup brown sugar
- Cook bacon and set aside to cool. Chop your bacon once it has cooled enough to handle.
- Put your beans in a cast iron dutch oven or aluminum pan.
- Use a medium to large skillet to cook pork sausage over medium-high heat along with your bell pepper and onion. Once it is cooked, add all the contents into the beans along with the chopped bacon.
- Add the jalapenos, apple fruit filling, BBQ sauce, mustard, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir until well combined.
- Season with pork rub to your taste, usually a generous sprinkle. Stir until well combined.
- Sprinkle brown sugar over the beans gently fold in.
- Smoke for 2-3 hours at 250-275 degrees.
