I would like to rename Washington D. C.  The new name would replace the phrase, District of Columbia with the phrase, Devotees of Craziness and would encompass all the folks who work in the political arena. By and large, the politicians or the Devotees of Craziness have lost all touch with a huge group of the American people.

A few of their failings are budget, impeachment, and taxes. They do not know what a budget is but know how to spend money. In a real court, the impeachment proceedings would have been tossed according to some experts I know due to tampered evidence. They make money for themselves while forgetting about who they represent. Oh, I forgot they tax them to death, literally, that is their interaction with the governed.

But one thing I personally believe in my heart of hearts. They are folks who have bought their own brand of craziness and truly believe they are special. They are not. Not being able to recognize this, does not bode well for the Republic.
