When the stormwater fees passed in 2018, I knew it would only be the start. Then when the city was sued, and I read the lawsuit I believed Colorado Springs would lose. Both First and Main and Flying Horse were specifically named in the lawsuit. Thank you very much indeed, Norwood and Classic Homes.
We were recently informed by our Strong Mayor Suthers, the fee is going up due to the determination by the Judge that Colorado Springs lost. Oh my, what a terrible thing. The churches and non-profits who own land will be looking at a very large increase in their fees.
In my opinion, the elected officials take care of the builders and developers while digging into the pockets of the rest of us. Maybe the strong mayor was not such a good idea. Whose idea was it? One developer spent over $900,000.00 on it. Should we revisit it? Let me know your thoughts.
