Campfire Old Fashioned

Background: The Campfire Old Fashioned gives you that warm and fuzzy feeling. Toasted marshmallows make you feel like you’re seated around the bonfire! This is a perfect drink for Fall!

Ingredients:

  • 2 ounces of whiskey
  • 2 dashes of bitters
  • 1 ounce marshmallow syrup
  • 2 toasted marshmallows per cocktail

Marshmallow Syrup Ingredients:

  • 3 toasted marshmallows
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla

Marshmallow Syrup Instructions:

  1. Toast the marshmallows over an open flame and set aside.
  2. Bring sugar and water to a boil in medium saucepan, them simmer 3-4 minutes until sugar is dissolved.
  3. Add the toasted marshmallows and stir until completely dissolved.
  4. Strain through a fine mesh strainer, add the vanilla and let it cool.

Construct the Cocktail:

  1. Stir together the whiskey, bitters and 1 ounce of marshmallow syrup
  2. Serve in whiskey glass over ice (ice sphere pictured above)
  3. Garnish with toasted marshmallows and enjoy
